haskins adoption – please pray

“He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.” dueteronomy 10:18

It all comes down to a judge in Ethiopia.  All of our work and prayers for two orphans in Ethiopia comes down to the decision of a judge, who will some time in the middle of the night (our time) hear the case of two abandoned boys.  Our prayer is that God would grant this judge the desire of His heart, “to execute justice for the fatherless.”  Join us in praying for two boys who right now are sojourners in the world without the good gift of a family.  Pray that God would grant them the blessing of a father who would provide for them as God has provided for us.

not of this kingdom – begins this week

This Sunday we begin a new study called Not of this Kingdom.  We will use the book Worldliness, edited by C.J. Mahaney as a resource.  Each week we will talk about what it means to live in this world according to the coming Kingdom of Christ.

welcome to the new I2

Over the last few weeks the I2 Bible Fellowship Group at AABC has gone through some significant transitions.  Three new BFG community groups are being planted throughout Lexington at this time. Each of these groups are made up of core folks from I2.  It has been a joy to see this group grow over the last 2 years and now reproduce itself in such a strategic way. 

Getting these groups started has required changes for the I2 class that meets at AABC every Sunday morning at 9:15 am.  Several new couples have recently joined (and rejoined) the group along with Danae and myself to provide leadership for I2.

Danae and I are both excited about getting involved with I2 again.  It our desire to help generate biblical fellowship among couples and young adults.  We pray that I2 will continue to be  a catalyst for selfless ministry within the context of AABC.  Our goal is to help one another walk with Jesus as we live life together.
